Islamic New Year 1430 started on 29th December 2008.
Its first month is called Muharram. It is one of the sacred months due to its virtues and in it is the special day of Ahoora.
Ashoora occurs on the 10th of Muharram and we should fast one day before ashoora and the day of Ashoora.
Thus we should try and fast on tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th Febuary 2009
